We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Field Technician to join our growing operations team at ACE Controls LLC. In this role, you will be the boots on the ground—commissioning, troubleshooting, programming, and maintaining automation systems and control panels.

Location: Humble, Texas (full-time, on-site presence required)

About the Role: As an Automation Field Technician, you will support automation project execution in the field. You will work hands-on with automation systems and control panels, ensuring proper installation, functionality, and performance. This is a great opportunity to contribute directly to the success of automation projects while advancing your technical skills in a dynamic, growth-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform commissioning of automation and control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA, sensors, etc.).
  • Complete documentation and start-up reports accurately and timely.
  • Troubleshoot issues during system start-up and provide immediate resolutions.
  • Calibrate and verify the correct installation and operation of process instrumentation.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain field equipment and control panels.
  • Perform terminations of field wiring and execute loop testing.
  • Modify existing control panel devices and wiring as needed.
  • Review engineering plans and specifications to ensure field compliance.
  • Perform basic PLC and HMI programming tasks.
  • Use hand tools and electrical meters proficiently to execute field tasks.
Required Qualifications:
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with commissioning and troubleshooting automation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard PLCs and HMIs.
  • Strong understanding of process instrumentation and control panels.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
