We are seeking a high‑performing Automation Engineering Intern to join our Indianapolis, IN team. This internship provides exposure to PLC systems, data integration, commissioning support, and real‑world automation engineering practices. This opportunity is for a Junior or Senior engineering student who is eager to gain practical experience in industrial automation.
This position requires direct employment.
We do not consider C2C (Corp-to-Corp) or 1099 contract arrangements.

We are seeking a high‑performing Automation Engineering Intern to join our Indianapolis, IN team. This internship provides exposure to PLC systems, data integration, commissioning support, and real‑world automation engineering practices. Job Responsibilities
As an Automation Intern, you will work alongside experienced Automation Engineers
- Supporting on‑site activities such as system checks, startup assistance, and basic troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, and supporting equipment.
- Assisting in commissioning and qualification (C&Q) tasks under supervision, including executing basic test procedures and documenting results.
- Use AutoCAD Electrical to design control panels for production and support accurate fabrication by the shop team
- Participating in vendor collaboration activities by gathering information, documenting issues, and tracking updates.
- Preparing and organizing documentation for validation, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Contributing to Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT initiatives through hands‑on learning and guided project tasks.
- Supporting engineering teams with research, data collection, and process improvement activities.
- Must be a current Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Must be located in the Indianapolis area for on‑site work.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical)
- Interest in PLCs, automation, controls, and industrial technology.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn in a hands‑on environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and vendors.
- Strong written communication skills for documentation tasks
