DeltaV Automation Engineer

We are looking for a DeltaV Automation Engineer to join our onsite team in Indianapolis, IN who can drive impactful automation solutions across biotechnology and life sciences sectors. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on implementation of industrial control systems. Support proposal development, lead automation projects, provide day-to-day troubleshooting and maintenance for platforms; Emerson DeltaV, Allen-Bradley PLCs, and iFix within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities
  • Design, development, and implementation of Emerson DeltaV automation systems for manufacturing and skid‑based processes
  • Programming, troubleshooting, and support of process and utility control systems in regulated environments
  • Application of ISA‑88 batch control principles to support modular and scalable batch automation solutions using DeltaV and FactoryTalk Batch
  • Support and maintenance of DeltaV DCS environments, including system optimization and integration
  • Development and maintenance of HMI/SCADA interfaces to support efficient plant operations
  • Participation in capital projects, including design, installation, testing, commissioning, and modernization efforts
  • Support of remediation, migration, and upgrade initiatives for legacy automation systems
  • Collaboration with the Validation team to ensure compliance with cGMP, GAMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements
  • Use of OSI PI or similar data historian systems to support process monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering
  • Emerson DeltaV Batch experience, minimum 6 years of hands-on experience with system integration and process control systems 
  • Proven ability in control system design, programming, troubleshooting, and implementation within regulated environments.
  • Hands-on experience with system integration and process control systems for Allen-Bradley SLCs, ControlLogix, iFIX, Foundation Fieldbus, and DeviceNet
  • Familiarity with process control documentation including P&IDs, URS, FS, and DS.
  • Working knowledge of Data Historian systems, particularly OSI PI.
  • Understanding of Computer System Validation lifecycle and FDA regulatory requirements.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with a proactive approach to tasks and challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and presentation abilities.
